Mission Trip to Clarkston, Georgia

To apply for FBK’s Summer Mission Trip to Clarkston, contact Shaphan Helms.

About Clarkston:

Atlanta is a vibrant city that’s a magnet for business, an area where tens of thousands of students attend universities, and a community that has such diversity of cultures that more than 100 languages are spoken here. But there are also significant needs.

The Atlanta suburb of Clarkston, where the Send Relief ministry center is located, is one of the most diverse communities in America. Known as the “Ellis Island of the South,” nearly 70% of the population is foreign-born, representing more than 50 countries with more than 100 distinct ethnic groups—all living within 1.4 square miles. This provides tremendous opportunities for churches and individuals to invest in the residents of this unique community.

This six-day Atlanta Mission Trip is an immersive experience at the Send Relief Ministry Center, allowing you to engage in refugee ministry as well as various ministry outreach projects throughout the Atlanta metro area.

What will you do:

Teams will be participating in a variety of compassion opportunities that can include apartment outreach, food pantry ministry, after-school programs, sports ministry, canvassing, prayer walking, homeless ministry, physical labor, serving at-risk families, and university campus ministry.

About a third of the trip will also include aspects of training and equipping so that volunteers can learn how to better serve the international and refugee communities in their cities.
