Brother David has served as the Pastor of First Baptist Killen for over 25 years, beginning his ministry at FBK in 1999. He is married to Rachel, and they have three adult children and one grandchild. Previously he served for 15 years as the Associate Pastor for Youth and Single Adults at Central Baptist Church in Decatur. He graduated from Samford University, and then earned a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Later he completed a Doctorate of Ministry from Beeson Divinity School. Some of Brother David’s hobbies include running, coaching cross country and tennis at Shoals Christian School, and spending time with his family.

Shaphan joined the staff of FBK in 2022. His areas of ministry include 7th-12th grade students, college ministry, discipleship efforts for the entire church, and leading the Missions Ministry Team. He has previously served as the Pastor of North Brewton Baptist Church in Brewton, Alabama and the Director of Ministry to Young Professionals at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham. Shaphan graduated from Samford University and earned a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School. He met his wife, Elizabeth, while they were both studying at Beeson, and they have two young children. Shaphan enjoys reading, live music, taking family walks, playing with his kids, and playing strategy board games.

Dorinda joined the staff of FBK in 2023 after serving for over 20 years as a Children’s Ministry volunteer. She is a graduate of the University of North Alabama where she studied Elementary Education. Dorinda also has a Masters degree in Elementary Education from UNA and a Masters in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama. She is the elementary school counselor at Lauderdale County Elementary School, having worked as a teacher or school counselor for 26 years. She is married to Kenneth and they have two college-aged children. Dorinda and Kenneth enjoy spending time watching their kids play sports. When she is not at the basketball gym or the ball field, she is normally watching a sporting event at home as a family.

Daniel joined the staff of FBK as the Music Director in 2011. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of North Alabama, where he earned a Masters in Music Education. Daniel is also the Muscle Shoals Middle School Band Director and Assistant High School Band Director. He is married to Amy, and they have four children. Daniel enjoys spending time with his family while attending band, baton, and chorus activities for his daughters. He also enjoys cooking, walking, rafting, camping, and being in the mountains.

Lenette has been on staff at First Baptist Killen since 2005. She also volunteers as a women’s Sunday School teacher and as an AWANA leader. As church secretary, Lenette loves getting to see how God uses different people in the church to minister to others in their own unique ways, and she is thankful to be able to participate in that process. She is married to J.T. They have four children and four grandchildren. Some of her hobbies include gardening, handcrafts, and woodworking.
