At First Baptist Killen, we seek to participate in the ongoing work of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who have never heard. Our church ministers locally as well as partnering with other churches through the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program.
First Baptist Killen also partners with other local and international ministries to support the on-going work of mercy ministry and evangelism within the Shoals and beyond. If you are the representative for an organization that would like to be considered for partnership ahead of the next calendar year, please complete the online “Missions & Ministry Partner Application” form.
Southern Baptist Mission Partnerships
As a Southern Baptist congregation, we have the great benefit of partnering with other like-minded congregations for the purpose of missions, thereby multiplying our efforts and accomplishing far more together than we ever could on our own.
The North American Mission Board (NAMB) supports the work of church planters and missionaries seeking to share the gospel with the estimated 281,000,000 people in North America who do not have a relationship with Jesus. The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is the primary avenue through which our church supports this important work.
The International Mission Board (IMB) supports 3,532 full-time missionaries serving around the world. The IMB estimates that there are 3,180 unengaged, unreached people groups who have no gospel witness. One way that FBK supports the ongoing work to take the gospel to the ends of the earth is through the annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
Send Relief is a collaborative effort between NAMB and IMB that focuses on compassion ministry at home and abroad. Send Relief exists to respond to life-altering moments with the life-giving gospel of Jesus. Whether it’s responding to natural disasters, caring for refugees, fighting human trafficking, supporting adoption and foster care efforts or providing clean water and medical attention to struggling communities, we are committed to connecting people in need with people who care. First Baptist Killen has planned an upcoming Send Relief Summer Mission Trip to Clarkston, Georgia.
FBK Care Center
The Care Center at First Baptist Killen has a monthly clothing giveaway on the first Thursday of each month from 8:00 - 10:00 AM for families in our local community. It is our prayer that the FBK Care Center would help our community experience the love of Christ in a tangible way. Clothing and shoes are available in all children’s sizes as well as some adult clothing. If you or your family are in need of clothing, our Care Center team would count it a privilege to care for you in this way.
