On March 2, FBK will host a one-day Churchwide Discipleship Conference entitled: The Word, The Work, and The People of God. We will begin with corporate worship at 10:15 AM and then resume in the afternoon for a session at 4 PM, followed by a free dinner (register here), and an evening worship service to wrap up the day. Our conference Preacher will be Ryan Adams, Pastor of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cahaba Heights, AL (Birmingham area).

Ryan was born in Leeds, Alabama and has called the Birmingham area home for most of his life. He and his wife, Laura, met sometime in elementary school, started dating in high school, graduated together from Auburn University, and were married in 2008. Ryan has a Master of Theological Studies from Beeson Divinity School and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Laura and Ryan have three children: Rose, Luke, and Ruth. Since 2023, Ryan has served as the senior pastor of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cahaba Heights, where he gives leadership to preaching and elder ministry. Prior to this he served for eight years as an associate pastor at Christ Fellowship Church in Homewood, AL. From his time among small churches in Chicago to the growing churches in Birmingham, the Lord has helped Ryan develop a deep love for the local church. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, going out for a run, playing board games, or reading a good book.
